Focusing on detoxification pathways within the body to enhance addiction recovery, autoimmune & Chronic Conditions

After practicing naturopathic medicine for several years, I have realized that physicians are prescribing numerous drugs solely for symptom management .  Patients have become "addicted" as a result of taking prescription medication.  As a consequence they are now suffering from more symptoms, and their vitality has decreased.  My heart breaks with the ongoing opioid epidemic and the hundreds of daily overdoses. This observance has led me to shift my practice focus to education; to teach others about holistic wellness and how it may benefit them, especially those with addictive patterns (alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs, illicit drugs).  Docere, doctor as teacher, is an oath that all naturopathic physicians take.  It is important to empower people with knowledge, so that they can make better choices to live a healthier life.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  After graduation I decided not to pursue allopathic medical school and to enter the work force.  A few years later, I  found Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ.  SCNM was the perfect school for me because it was a blend of core science and evidence based holistic medicine.

I am a licensed naturopathic doctor in WA.  In the past I have held licenses in Arizona and Hawaii while operating my own private practice, Sunstone Natural Health.  In addition, I co-founded the Sedona Cleanse.  My clinical interests are environmental medicine and detoxification, both of which have a role in a patient's recovery process.  I believe that exogenous chemicals contribute to declining our health.  I look forward to sharing my expertise on the e-courses and future symposiums.
